Our practice specializes in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. We ascribe to the "Triple Aim" in Heath Care; core competency, improved the health of or patients, and reduction of cost. This web site exemplifies these goals as seen with our extensive education pages and our cost effectiveness. Our value is seen when compared to other programs. The Okcopay website shows the value we offer, especially for patients that are self-pay or have high deductibles.

We welcome Leo Bonaventura, MD to the practice. Dr. B has been practicing has been providing advanced infertility treatments for over 30 years and was an early adopter of PGS. Over the past few years, it has become increasingly clear that most IVF procedures fail due to chromosome abnormalities with the embryos. PGS lets us check the embryos and only put back normal ones. Dr. B has led the movement to this advanced technique. Working with the team at Family Beginnings, PC many more patients with benefit from this technology. Dr. Bonaventura and Dr. Donahue have been voted "Top Doctors" by Indianapolis Monthly for multiple years

We are the only practice in central Indiana to offer IVF in an office-based setting where comfort, safety, convenience, and exceptional pregnancy rates are obtained. Additionally, we offer the greatest value in ART locally. Our egg donation program is also one of the most cost effective for patients that require donor eggs to conceive.

Our IVF procedure fee (includes surgeon fee, facility fee for retrieval and transfer, sperm prep, embryo culture and transfer) is only $4000, roughly one half of what hospital-based programs charge. Additional charges include medicines, blood work and ultrasounds, and ICSI, assisted hatching and embryo cryopreservation, as needed. While most of our patients never need such advanced therapy, it is reassuring to know it is available at a reasonable price. Our patients recognize the value and commitment we offer them.

We now offer Mini-IVF. Minimal stimulation IVF uses less medications and creates fewer eggs and excess embryos, yet has similar pregnancy rates when compared to conventional stimulation IVF. The cost is $6850 which includes all medications, blood work and ultrasound monitoring of the cycle, egg retrieval and embryo transfer as well as ICSI to assure fertilization of the eggs. We feel that this procedure will make IVF more available to patients in need. It can be done as part of our long distance IVF program.

Pioneering work on IVF earns Noble Prize

In the Fall of 2010, Dr. Bob Edwards was awarded the Noble Prize for his pioneering work on IVF. Over 3 million babies have been born from IVF worldwide. It is an honor to work in a field that brings so much happiness into the world. We wish to congratulate Dr. Edwards and all the Embryologists and Scientists at Bourne Hall, in Cambridge, UK where the 1st IVF procedure was done in the world.

Dr. Donahue completed his MSc in Clinical Human Embryology at the University of Leeds, UK and had the opportunity to spend time with Dr. Edwards as seen in the photo above on the steps of Bourne Hall.

Dr. Donahue was voted one of the Top Doctors in Indianapolis by Indianapolis Monthly Magazine for 2012. The inclusion was based upon an independent survey that included peer recommendations, experience, training, and awards. Dr. Donahue provides exceptional care to his patients and appreciates the recommendation of his patients and peers.
